Reading Leonardo da Vinci is pure pleasure. Besides the too widely used example of helicopter design, his journals comprise an immensity of impressive and innovative studies and observations.

If you want to produce fabulous stench, take human feces and urine and stinking goosefoot or, if you don’t have it, cabbage and beetroot; put it all in a well stoppered bottle and let it sit under manure for a month. Throw it wherever you want to create a nasty smell so that it breaks.

Here is evidence proving that stench bomb was invented as early as in the 16th century.
