§ 147. Simplicity ≠ primitivity

Building facades with overhanging eaves have a way more pleasant, agreeable, neighborly and welcome look than those without them. I don’t get how modern architects fail to see that.

This is well true of any other design—having to be simple, it must never grow primitive.
